SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are some objectives for future global and international development, which were formulated by the UN. After the validity Millennium Development Goals ended in 2015, they have been replaced by Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs will be valid from 2016 to 2030. It comprises of a total of 17 goals and 169 specific targets. The targets were set during a discussion between the Government heads of different countries at the UN Sustainable Development Summit, New York on September 20-23. The content of the conference was, “Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

SDG Awareness Campaign

The SDG Awareness Campaigns were aimed to speed up the progress of SDGs by raising awareness, driving concrete action and giving a chance for all to be a part of the SDG rolling out process in the country. Lectures, training, debates, meetings, and festivals were planned for these campaigns. This plan of action called on the contribution from all elements of society, including local and national governments, businesses, industries, and individuals, as the process requires consensus, collaboration, and innovation.
